The Pyramid of Healthy Hydration

In 2008, the English Society Community Nutrition and Centre of Nutrition and Physical Activity created the Pyramid of Healthy Hydration . This guide allows you to visualize what the healthier beverages to quench your thirst and maintain proper hydration.

The BOP (group 1) you can see the beverage of preference: mineral water or tap water. These should constitute at least half the amount you should drink daily, as they are the best choice to quench thirst and rehydrate the body

In second level (group 2) are: sugar soft drinks, tea, coffee or tea without sugar (and mate) and vegetable broths.

The third level (group 3) are the drinks with some calories and nutrients of interest: natural fruit juices, vegetable juices, juices, fruit-based business (100%), milk or milk products liquid low-fat unsweetened milk substitute low-fat, beer without alcohol, sports drinks, tea and coffee with sugar.

The apex of the pyramid (group 4) are located should not consume beverages daily, but on a weekly basis: or non-carbonated soft drinks, sweetened with sugar or fructose.
