What Bindings Go With The Burton Fix

About 250 flights canceled by the Icelandic volcano ash

About 250 flights were canceled today because of the ash cloud caused by the eruption of Iceland Grímsvötn, as announced by the European Agency for Safety Air Navigation (Eurocontrol).

Brian Flynn, chief operating officer of the agency, explained through the social network Twitter the ashes now cover most of Scotland and Northern Ireland and will travel throughout the day to affect southern Scandinavia, Denmark and probably northern Germany.

The Norwegian authorities announced Today the partial closure of its airspace after 0600 GMT because of mean concentrations of ash.

Flynn has indicated that the volcanic cloud could continue its course towards the south as the weeks progress, moving to France and Spain, but has warned that the forecasts are not yet precise.

According to Eurocontrol, the Icelandic volcano continues to erupt, but somewhat less intense than in previous days, so that the concentration of dust in air is lower.

Low levels of concentration does not prevent planes flying, according to Flynn recalled, while in cases of high concentration depends on the type of aircraft and other circumstances.

The Grímsvötn most active volcano in Iceland erupted on Saturday.

This rash comes after last year a similar phenomenon in the Eyjafjallajökull, another Icelandic volcano, paralyze the European air traffic for several weeks.

The European Union yesterday triggered a crisis coordination cell to respond quickly and smoothly to the possible impact of the volcanic cloud.

The group, which brings together the European Commission (EC), European airlines, airports, aviation authorities and Eurocontrol issue guidelines to clarify under what conditions may or may not fly.
